Disputed Issues of the Mental Health Act(II) -On Right to Treatment-

Abstract
|
|
|
The author reviewed and discussed the issues of the right to treatment of the mentally ill. For the protection of patients' human right in hospital situation, I propose that The mental health Act must contain following issues and regulations;
1. Regulation of staffing ratio of mental institute, statement of qualification of mental health professionals.
2. Regulation to protect patients' privacy and to prohibit unnecessary physical restraint and isolation of patient.
3. Regulation to promote adequate treatment.
4. Issues and regulatlation concerned with local mental health tribunal and its activity.
5. Issues and regulation concerned with so-called The mental Health Committee and its acivity.
